Our Pastor

Pastor Micheal Mackey grew up in a Christian home in the Greater Toronto Area. At the age of 13, he came to the realization that living in a Christian home was not going to give him salvation. When he realized that salvation only comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, he trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, and it was the best decision that he has ever made.

At the age of 18 he surrendered his life to the Lord, not knowing what it was that God had planned for him. In the fall of 2011, Pastor Mackey began a 4-year program at FaithWay Baptist College of Canada in Ajax, Ontario. It was while in college that the Lord confirmed in his heart that He wanted him to go into the ministry. It was also at Bible College where he would meet his future wife, Dorothée. Dorothée grew up in a Christian home as well, in the province of Quebec, and she placed her faith in Jesus Christ for salvation at the age of 6. She graduated from Faithway Baptist College of Canada in 2018 with a Bachelor of Religious Education degree. During his time at FaithWay Baptist College of Canada, Pastor Mackey had the privilege of traveling in a music tour group one summer through the Maritimes and Newfoundland, and it was at that time when God began to place a burden in his heart for preaching the Gospel here in Canada.

After graduating from FaithWay Baptist College of Canada in 2015 with a Bachelor of Theology degree, Pastor Mackey began serving at Quinte Baptist Church in Trenton, Ontario, under the leadership of Pastor Bruce Cook. Through the Lord’s leading, He ultimately led Pastor Mackey to accept the role of pastor at Quinte Baptist Church in September, 2018 after Pastor Cook moved to the Sarnia area. The Lord has blessed the Mackey’s with two beautiful girls, Alice and Esme.

Pastor Mackey is committed to preaching and teaching the Word of God. He and his wife Dorothée are excited to be serving the Lord together in the Bay of Quinte region, and would love to personally welcome you to Quinte Baptist Church one day.
